This event took place on June 23rd - but you can still try Caravela’s roast profile below.
To take part in this you will need access to an IKAWA Sample Roaster.
If you don’t have access to an IKAWA we may be able to arrange a loan.
Introducing our first remote cupping....
We’re delighted to join forces with Caravela for this event, open to roasters in the UK and Ireland.
You may associate Caravela with high quality washed Colombian coffee, but they work with small-holder farmers in seven Latin American countries - including Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala where IKAWA roasters are used as part of the QC process.
This cupping explores 4 different Latin American origins using coffees all scoring 85 by the Caravela team. All the coffees in the cupping are from the fresh crop and available for order should you wish to do so.
How it works:
Participants will receive these four mystery green coffees, along with Caravela’s roast profile.
They will arrive on 12th - 15th June. You will have a few days to roast and cup them, taking note of the characteristics and trying to identify the origin. Don’t forget to use #coffeeconnected and tag @ikawacoffee and @caravelcoffee.
Submit your competition replies by 22nd June on email you receive.
Join us and Aïssa from Caravela to learn more about the coffees, and of course find out who is the winner of our fantastic prize.
